The Pluto-Kuiper Express will the first space craft to visit Pluto and Charon, with launch in 2004 and a flyby in 2012. By using the gravity of Venus and Jupiter, it may only take 8 years to get out there. One secret is to make it as small as possible to go as fast as possible - the figure compare Pluto Express (under its previous name, Pluto Fast Flyby) with previous spacecraft that have visited the outer solar system.
