This Mars Atlas allows you to locate any place on Mars and obtain an image of it!
The Martian Chronicle page at JPL is another source discussing Mars exploration.
The Whole Mars Catalog is an excellent site, very extensive set of links to many NASA activities.
The Mars page at Los Alamos National Lab. This includes a discussion of the face on Mars.
The Mars page at SEDS.
CNN has a page devoted to the Red Planet.

The "Face" on Mars, and other features

The Whole Mars Catalog also has a section on the Face(s) on Mars.
The Mars page at Los Alamos National Lab includes a discussion of the face on Mars.
Results from Mars Global Surveyor showing the region near the face with much better resolution.

Current Missions to Mars

These were all planned years before the announcement of possible life on Mars. The common theme is to try and understand what caused the climate of Mars to change by so much, and where the water and carbon dioxide may be today. This JPL News Archive lists all the home pages and press releases from the Mars Missions.

The Odyssey mission left for Mars on April 7 2001, will arrive Oct 24, 2001.

The Mars Global Surveyor mission was launched on November 7, 1996, and went into orbit around Mars on 11 September 1997.  Its main mission is to study the Martian environment. There are descriptions of the mission from JPL, NSSDC, and MSSS. Mars may have had a climate like Earth's at one time. The mission of this spacecraft is to discover what happened to Mars to make it dry and cold today, and where the water and carbon dioxide may have gone.

The Sojourner Rover on Mars

The Mars Pathfinder page at JPL and at CNN. It was successfully launched Dec 4 and landed on 1997 July 4. It includes a small rover called Sojourner. The Rover was named after Sojourner Truth, a Civil War era African-American antislavery and women's rights activist who "traveled upand down the land" in to speak the truth.  The NSSDC has another summary of this mission. The landing site was chosen as a location that had flowing water long ago.

Live from Mars is aimed at kids K-12 and discusses all the upcoming missions.

Ancient Life on Mars??

This is NASA's main page on the discovery of evidence for life on Mars 3.5 billion years ago. It contains many of links to related items.
