The Odyssey
mission left Earth on April 7 2001 and arrived at Mars on Oct 23, 2001. It will search for
water and other resources. The Cassini
mission to Saturn flew by Jupiter in January, 2001, using Jupiter's gravity to
pick up speed. It made many measurements
and pictures of Jupiter during its
closest approach. It will arrive at Saturn in July 2004. The NEAR
Mission went into orbit around the asteroid Eros on Feb 14, 2000 the first time a
spacecraft has become a satellite of an asteroid. Another page

impact, the first landing on an asteroid.
